Damian Green
Chief Executive Officer
Damian Green is the CEO of Stopping Family Violence (SFV), and a passionate advocate and researcher of perpetrator responses in Australia with a key vision of instilling a high standard of excellence across the sector. Through his work at SFV, and as an experienced Research Associate within the Social Work discipline at Curtin University, Damian has been involved in an array of national research projects exploring perpetrator interventions in both an advisory and investigatory capacity.

Damian is a registered psychologist, and an experienced group work facilitator and trainer having worked extensively in the areas of violent offending, MBCPs and parenting over the past 20 years. Damian sits on various committees and advisory groups at both a state and federal level. Damian is strongly committed to the goal of ending violence towards women and children.
Damian established Stopping Family Violence in 2016 to drive forward the agenda of perpetrator response and grow the evidence base that supports this work. The organisation’s purpose is to work in partnership with other organisations (such as women’s and children’s services, the research sector and perpetrator intervention programs) to put an end to family and domestic violence and create a better future for women and children experiencing domestic violence. This is actualised through the delivery of training programs to the FDV and support services sector, support for pilot programs, research and community education. Stopping Family Violence is involved in various national research projects and has been involved in various program evaluations and development work across Australia. Furthermore, SFV are a proud member of the WA Mens Behaviour Change Network and support this important work through the provision of secretariat support.
Mark O’Hare
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Mark O’Hare is the Deputy CEO at Stopping Family Violence and has a wealth of experience in working in Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (MBCPs), Violent Offender Treatment Programs, Sex Offender Treatment Programs and working with Men with AOD issues. Prior to working in the FDV sector, Mark facilitated Drug and Alcohol group programs and specialised in men’s groups and working with adolescents who use substances. Mark has held several positions in government, including a specialised FDV Coordinator and consultant roles with the WA Department of Justice, which involved providing FDV consultancy to the Department and supporting community-based MBCPs.

Mark has direct experience case managing offenders in prison and community and has worked in high-level managerial and leadership positions in government, overseeing the delivery of criminogenic programs for offenders in WA prison and community settings. Mark’s work with SFV has involved extensive consultation and training across the sector to support the Implementation of FDV-informed practice across multiple systems in WA, including both government and non-government organisations. Mark has chaired key FDV-related advisory groups and steering committees. Mark has practised in these areas as a Social Worker for more than 20 years and has experience as a sessional academic within the School of Social Work at Curtin University. Mark has delivered training across almost every state and territory in Australia, is a certified trainer in the Caring Dads and Safe and Together models and has delivered over 70 Safe and Together Trainings since being certified.
Colleen West
Operations Manager
Colleen has worked in management roles in family and domestic violence, health, and mental health for the last 9 years across Government, not-for-profit, and the private sector. Seeing the impact of family, domestic and sexual violence through services has influenced a passion for creating positive change for safer and more effective systemic responses.

Colleen has a strong interest in holistic health and well-being and holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science from The University of Notre Dame Australia and a Bachelor of Psychological Science from the Swinburne University of Technology. Colleen has worked for Stopping Family Violence since early 2021 as the Operations Manager.
At Stopping Family Violence, Colleen supports the delivery of SFV organisational goals, as well as human resources, project management, event planning, and a range of training. Colleen is a certified facilitator in the Safe & Together Model and has been involved in the Caring Dads Program. Before this, Colleen worked on the front line in one of the busiest public emergency departments in Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic in Victoria, managing over 200 staff. In the private sector, Colleen managed an Employee Assistance Program that looked after 80,000 employees, including managing critical incident responses, well-being programs and general counselling on a global scale for Australian workplaces.
Kate Jeffries
Manager Practice Development and Quality Assurance
Kate is a passionate leader for family safety and an advocate for effective system responses to increase the visibility of perpetrators as the cause of harm. With 20 years’ experience in the West Australian context, she has held various leadership roles across family and domestic violence, mental health and disability. Her focus areas at Stopping Family Violence support training, workforce development, program design and quality assurance for perpetrator intervention.

As a practitioner, Kate is experienced in engaging with men using family and domestic violence through behaviour change intervention, i.e. individual and work group delivered within community and prison settings, working holistically with women and children impacted by family and domestic violence, providing clinical services for young people and risk assessment for the Family Court of Western Australia. Kate provides FDV informed supervision to support practitioner growth Australia wide.
Kate is the current chair for WA Men’s Behaviour Change Network, she was a previous chair for WA Family Law Pathways Network, and consortium chair for headspace Mandurah (WA). Kate is a registered psychologist, board-approved supervisor and an accredited Safe and Together trainer for both core and supervisor programs.
Belinda Hawes
Trainer and Project Officer
Belinda joined Stopping Family Violence after 20 years of service as a frontline police officer with the Western Australian Police. Throughout her career, Belinda has held a diverse range of roles, but her true passion lies in education and increasing awareness of family and domestic violence.

Belinda was an integral part of a team that trained WA police officers, helping them better understand the complexities of family and domestic violence. In 2024, Belinda joined the team at Starick Services, contributing to the Respectful Relationship Teaching Support and Respectful Relationship Sport and Recreation programs. These primary prevention programs promote positive relationships and gender equality to schools, education facilities and sporting organisations, to prevent family and domestic violence before it starts.
Belinda joined Stopping Family Violence in November 2024, bringing with her a deep passion for facilitation and education. Committed to raising awareness and driving social change, she empowers individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools necessary to both prevent and respond more safely to family and domestic violence.
Belinda serves as the vice-chair of No Limits Perth, a charity she co-founded in August 2015 with Debbie Jordaan and CEO Janine Wood. No Limits Perth is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families in Perth’s northern suburbs, through a variety of services and projects, including food hampers, household items, and furniture, they aim to restore dignity and hope to those in need.
Belinda is actively engaged in her local community, managing several online groups focused on her suburb. Through these platforms, she connects with residents, shares important information, and supports local initiatives. In addition, Belinda plays a key role in organising and participating in fundraising events and charitable collections, dedicating her time and efforts to causes that make a meaningful difference in the community.
David Batty
First Nations Project Coordinator
David Batty is an experienced coordinator and program facilitator with over 20 years’ experience working across Western Australia. He has led and delivered culturally safe, trauma-informed programs in health promotion, suicide prevention, social and emotional wellbeing, and community media within Aboriginal Medical Services, including the Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service, the Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service, and the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service.

David has worked across program development, stakeholder engagement, training delivery, and public speaking, and has coordinated regional and statewide initiatives across the Midwest, Kimberley, Murchison, and Gascoyne regions. He holds multiple qualifications, including a Diploma in Aboriginal Primary Health Care, a Diploma in Counselling, an Advanced Diploma in Social and Emotional Well-being. Completed a Diploma of Leadership and Management in 2017, and is a Trainer /Facilitator for Red Dust Healing
David has been recognised for his contributions, including NAIDOC Male of the Year (2021) and GRAMS Employee of the Month (2022/2023).

Daniel Winters
Chairperson
Daniel is the Chairperson of the Stopping Family Violence Board. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance from Curtin University.
Daniel has ten years experience providing audit and consulting services to private businesses and not-for-profit (NFP) organisations for PwC. He is the leader of the Private Consulting team in Western Australia.

Wayne Stevenson is a senior executive with demonstrated success achieving income, profit, and business growth objectives within both new and existing services. He has proven experience in governance and quality systems requiring a deep understanding of critical business drivers, relationships and responsibilities, and is customer-focused and performance-driven. He has managed P&L for business divisions exceeding $20 million in revenue.

Wayne has a 15 year history in Men’s Behaviour change, developing the initial service model and policy for a Men’s therapeutic community residential Domestic Violence program.
Wayne is a consultant psychologist and currently operates MindTime, his own private consultancy business providing Psychological and Counselling Services to young people, school staff and their families, at private and public schools in the Rockingham area.
Wayne holds an MBA from Murdoch University and a Masters of Psychology from Curtin University. Wayne is the Treasurer of the Stopping Family Board and has previous experience as a Board member for Communicare Inc., WACOSS, and Local Church Board.
